South African Heavy Haul Association (SAHHA) - Conference

Dear Heavy Haulers,

I am delighted to announce that the South African Heavy Haul Association (SAHHA), a local chapter of the International Heavy Haul Association (IHHA), will be hosting its 2024 Heavy Haul Conference on on 26-29 August 2024, at Emperors Palace Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. The Theme of the Conference is: Positioning Heavy Haul for Success. This conference will provide a platform for the industry players to discuss our logistics challenges, solutions and opportunities, and pave  pathway towards the achievement of a globally competitive Heavy Haul system.

The scope of the conference will cover the Heavy Haul logistics value chain, from train loading at the mines, rail hauling to vessel loading at the ports (pit to port system).

The main focus areas for this conference are the following:

Technical: As tradition, a call for technical papers will be issued soon. This will cover technical and technological solutions under the areas of train loading and off-loading, infrastructure, rolling stock, operations, manufacturing and security.

Strategic: An invitation will be made to policy makers and regulators, various logistics forums & associations, key decision makers across the Heavy Haul value chain, to discuss strategic issues of the industry and achieve alignment on the implementation plan that will position the Heavy Haul for success.
