By popular demand, Maritime Week Africa (MWAF24) returns to Cape Town in January 2024 – for its 16th edition – after a hugely successful event in January this year which broke all previous attendance records.
MWAF24, the longest-running and most popular bunkering event on the African continent, will bring together the highest-level industry and government speakers to deliver an information-packed conference focussed on the uniquely diverse African shipping, energy and bunkering sectors.
MWAF24 also offers expert training on shipping’s new fuels and the industry’s pathways to decarbonisation, and the event will once again celebrate the spirit and friendship of the global bunkering community with some spectacular networking, including:
- Opening Reception hosted by ARIA Commodities
- Evening Reception at the fascinating Two Oceans Aquarium, hosted by Heron Marine
- Closing Reception at the unique Royal Cape Yacht Club, hosted by Dan-Bunkering (Africa)
- Networking Luncheon hosted by Addax Energy
- A special WISTA in Africa Forum, hosted by Linsen Nambi

Internationally renowned shipping and bunkering expert – and author of new book on alternative fuels – Nigel Draffin, will examine the essentials of alternative fuels and technologies in a one-day intensive course which looks at the potential benefits of using alternative fuels in the marine industry. It will look at the reality of where the industry is now, and what practical steps will have to be taken to deliver the energy transition.
|
The pros and cons of all the key alternative fuels will be weighed up, with a detailed focus on production, transportation, storage and delivery, with a focus both on Africa and on the global maritime sector.
This is a ground-breaking course on the future of bunkering, so it will have plenty to offer both industry veterans and newcomers.
