SAOGA intends to apply for funding from the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) under the Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS) to establish a South African pavilion at the Manufacturing Indaba, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre, JHB from 14–15 July 2026.Manufacturing Indaba is a leading African manufacturing conference and exhibition that brings together industry leaders, manufacturers, investors, and policymakers to support the growth and competitiveness of the continent’s manufacturing sector. The event provides a platform for showcasing innovation, sharing industry insights, and building partnerships across the manufacturing value chain.                                                                                                  The Department of Trade Industry and Competition (the DTIC), offers South African manufacturing companies the opportunity to showcase their products at various international trade fairs.  In this instance, the scheme that provides funding for successful applicants is called the Sector Specific Assistance Scheme (SSAS), and Emerging Exporters are encouraged to participate under this scheme. 

Companies who meet the criteria, set out by the DTIC, may apply for funding, and successful applicants will enjoy the following benefits - the upfront payment of exhibition costs, freight forwarding, one economy class return flight ticket, and accommodation (breakfast and dinner included).Eligible Industrie

• Automotive & Transport Manufacturing – Vehicle components, parts manufacturing and transport equipment.
• Agro-processing – Food processing, packaging and value-added agricultural products
• Metals & Engineering – Steel, fabrication, machinery and industrial equipment
• Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals – Chemical products, industrial inputs and pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Plastics & Materials – Plastics, rubber, polymers and advanced materials
• Textiles & Consumer Goods – Clothing, textiles, footwear, furniture and related manufactured products
• Industrial Technology – Automation, robotics, digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions
• Energy & Green Manufacturing – Renewable energy solutions and sustainable manufacturing technologies.
