Fact

1. A Company employee has only one Driver's Licence. Most employees rely on this licence to effectively perform their duties.
2. Companies can expect significant disruption to operations for violations incurred outside office hours.(Monitoring private time behaviour?)
3. Effective internal company policies can to some extent mitigate fallout. However these have little effect on employees outside office hours.
4. Unpaid Traffic fines incurred in private capacity will result in non-renewal of Driver's & Vehicle licences.

• Speeding - 90 km/h in 60 km/h 5 demerit points and a fine of - R3,400. (Column 8)
• Speeding - 91+km/h in a 60km/h lands you in court. If convicted - 6 Demerit Points R5,000 fine plus a criminal record.
  • Column 4, O - Refers to an Offence 
  • Column 5, C - Refers to a Compulsory Court appearance. (Driver or Company(Director/Proxy) or a combination of both.
  • NAP definition, No Admission of Penalty (Court appearance required)
• Double whammy for operators/companies - Penalties are applied against the driver and Company if proper procedure is not followed.
• AARTO regulations consists of 495 pages and are a minefield to navigate.
