Emerging Educational Change

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, ( ICS ) , South Africa, is embracing change, and moving into the area of educational redress, by providing skills training to South Africans. This requires working closely with the Transport Sector Education and Training Authority ( TETA ) , to provide unit standards/skills programmes, from the Further Education and Training, ( FET ) , Certificate, Shipping.
In going forward with this new venture, it is “ b usiness unusual ” (Mbeki ) , for the ICS S.A. Eight highly experienced and qualified industry leaders have worked on learning material for the skills training.
With an optimistic view ICS is sailing uncharted educational land and has put together a strong team of Facilitators and Assessors, to make a success of this venture. ICS S.A. will provide continuing high quality education to learners. It ’ s “ a l l hands on deck ” to open new doorways for the learner of today, to become the captains of industry tomorrow. Acute skills shortages make it important to begin it now.
